I can’t get my IBM T60 laptop to get an ip address from my isp dhcp server, why?

I have a T60 that was given to me by my employer. When it’s in the office I can get an ip address with no problems. But when I bring it home I can not get an ip address. I have a highspeed internet connection (Comcast). I have checked all the settings and I can not find out what the problem is. All it does is say it’s acquiring a network address and then I see a message that says there is limited or no connectivity.
How do I restore Active Directory from a backup on Windows Server 2003?

I had to re-install my server (server01) from scratch, but before I re-installed it, I made sure I ran a backup. I did backup of all system state, etc. After reinstalling my OS, i ran a restore and it failed. I need to know how to restore Active directory from a backup after re-installing my server os. Thank you.
