How come people fear that computers will one day outsmart humans?

It does not make sense that computers will ever do that because computers only do what we tell them to do. And since humans make them they can only be as smart as the person making it. . . So whats there to fear.

because computers can be programmed to do things, and if they started doing things they weren’t programmed to do they could taus harm such as like re rout a plane some were els

It is based on the Czech play that said “robots”(technical term for forced labor) will one day turn on their masters and make their own society. The idea began to become ravaged because USA is against any sort of communism so that they would change the entire play to keep people from investing in robotics(the actual term for mechanical labor) because quite literally people will gain the grandest freedom from them FREE TIME. Think about that for a moment if you had free time what would you do? The answer winds up whatever you wanted and to be quite frank that endangers the crowd controls because their propaganda can be removed with the investment of facts and understanding. See in order to control a society you must constantly distract them in order to keep the to finding out why you are the boss. Understand this if you knew more than your boss why in the hell would you stay under them? You would not they just want to keep you uninformed to the point that you rely on them for everything. That is why you hear both “Knowledge is power” and “Ignorance is bliss” see the people who understand the first one know if you are ignorant or stupid their lives will be bliss because they will rely on you for everything. I’m not talking about knowledge like who invented the light bulb but knowledge like how do you make a light bulb. It is the understanding of systems and methods that make you more powerful.

Computer technology is moving forward by leaps and bounds, as is brain research and neuroscience itself. Research computers as artificial intelligent devices, and, brain / computer interface.
Nanotechnology is changing everything in the computer world. Computers are being programmed to learn just like children do. It has been estimated that by 2050, a $1000.00 home computer will rival the human brain in power, memory, and self perception. Look up quantum computers. Computers design based upon completely new concepts. A small quantum computer would be many, many times faster and smarter than standard computers and even the human brain. Very, very rudimentary quantum computer circuits are being developed today.
What this means for the human being: we humans will have to interface with computer systems and we will have to work harder just to stay ahead of computers, else we become a second rate second class entity and a slave to a more powerful being — the computer/robot.
