Do they look at your files when they do a scan for a Data Recovery ?

I was just curious, they’re going to do one to my external drive. Do they see the titles only or do they actually have to open the file to scan it or what? I have nothing to hide but ive borrowed my drive to my friends and lets just say they think its very funny what they store in there.

As long as there aren’t things like child pornography, you should be ok.

anything suspicious. so files or folders like “hot naked 9yo” or something they are gonna see. Then your gonna get shitkicked. its like 5 years for posession of child porn, then 1 year extra for each extra photo or something. Pretty sure its a max of 25 years

I agree with the others. Like the clerk at a photo shop, they get in trouble if they overlook the really bad stuff. They don’t get paid enough to protect the customer who is that dumb.

You answered it your self, if you have nothing to hide no problem.

For a straight backup scan and load, a few files will need to be opened for Quality Assurance purposes but most files will not be opened. They will have an index of all file names, author, and other metadata when the scan is complete. You should ask them for a copy of it, they may not provide it by default.
