How do i know what temperature is too hot for my processor and system? I have an Intel i7 Q740?

mmm anything about 50 should start alarm bells ringing although intel have tested up to and a little over 60 i wouldnt run this hot though it’ll shorten its life.

If it’s over 60, start worrying. If it’s over 50, start working on to reducing the temp to under 50.
Get a temperature monitoring program.

That CPU can get up to 100C with no damage.

It’s always best to keep it under 80c
But since you have a laptop it’s best to keep it under 70c even better if you can keep it under 60c
