Two OCZ 240GB RevoDrive 3 X2 PCI Express SSD drives in RAID 0 benchmarks!

Expand this window to read more. So…YES! It’s possible and easy to setup! *BLAZING-FAST* SSD SPEED in your reach within a minute! UNCUT, RAW VIDEO, AS A PROOF!
My benchmark results in pictures, including 3x Revo setup: uploading.com I had some money to spend on ssd drive(s) and was looking for information exactly as in this video, but could not find it surprisingly anywhere in the Internet. People were writing like “Are you stupid? It is already RAID 0 internally, so how do you want to make a raid from a raid?!”
So i took a risk, bought 2 cards and it was worth as you will see in a moment! You can set two RevoDrive3 X2 SSD drives in RAID 0, in Windows 7 and get an IMPOSSIBLE TO IMAGINE 3.1 GB/s read, 2.6 GB/s write speed and over 276 000 IOPS (measured in ATTO Benchmark) Windows 7 raid 0 scales performance of RevoDrive3 X2 very very well, doubling its already super fast speed of 1.5 GB/s read and 1.3 GB/s write! Sorry for shaky camera and poor light. I did not have time to work on this in Premiere CS5 and make super shiny-funny video I hope it was at least informational and your eyes opener. Now i know its only a matter of time when someone crazy puts 4 of these RevoDrive3 X2 bastards in one (4+ pci-express x4+ slots) motherboard and gets…. 6 GB/s read, 5.2 GB/s write speed! Now, I’m thinking about buying the 3rd one, to pump up the speed to over 4.6 GB/s read, 3.9 GB/s write:) Looks like a perfect solution for your private database datacenter needs. With such …

Hey! OCZ just announced an improved RevoDrive 3 X2 with read speed 1.9 GB/s and write speed 1.7 GB/s. Its called RevoDrive 3 X2 MaxIOPS edition. Damn, if i waited few more months…
But it is always like that. So, wait and get the new maxiops edition instead the 2 tested here. Maxiops is 400 MB/s faster than my model.

@connell256 Hi! I’m happy you like it. These cards operate on ~x4 pcie speed. 3.0 should be the same.

Good review! please do this again when faster ones come out
Quick question, when PCIE3.0 comes out, would putting these drives in them make any difference compared to 2.0? Thanks
Marc

@zarja73 Hey. First, experiment with inserting it in different slots. If that doesn’t work, update your BIOS firmware. I’ve seen posts about your Revo and that particular motherboard on ocztechnologyforum com , so check that forum. Unfortunately with pci express ssds it is not so easy as adding a new sound card to your pc ( you plug it in and it works). Guys i just bought LSI MegaRAID 9265-8i controller and have 4 x OCZ Vertex 120GB Max IOPS drives. Transfer? up 2GB/s and 500MB/s at 4k.

i have a 980x +2 120gb Agility 2 in Raid, and not gonna be upgrading to Sandy Bridge will wait for next Gen CPUs from intell, but after they come out im so gonna buy one of these drives, by then im sure OCZ will develop something even more amazing

incredible man! great video! quick question though… which allocation size is the best to set for this drive if Windows 7 is installed on another SSD? I want to use this Revodrive 3 X2 as a “games” drive. I might also get 2 and put them in RAID 0 but I’m running Tri-SLI graphics so I don’t have 2 free slots!

@SSDEnthusiast , Yeah Didn’t think so either…Thanks for quick reply

@mackoy20000 Hey. I tried to do it in the first place, but it did not work no matter what i tried to do. Also, i don’t think it makes a sense. Seriously, buy some Vertex 3 120GB as your main drive like i did and raid0 these revos under Windows 7. Safer, better. Regards.

Hi, I just want to know if Two OCZ 240GB RevoDrive 3 X2 PCI Express IN RAID 0 CAN BE BOOTABLE AS ONE DRIVE? Thanks!!
December 2nd, 2011 on 10:36 am
@bytejuggler Yes of course. Depends what do you store on your pc. Cheers.
December 2nd, 2011 on 10:38 am
64k allocation size might be a bit faster but it will waste space like crazy if you store lots of small files…

Hello everybody. I have a 3rd card now and managed to make it running. I had to insert these 3 cards as i would like to have 3-way SLI on that motherboard. Then, it works despite during boot i don’t see the 3rd card being detected.
The top speed now is 4.2 GB/s read and 3.3 GB/s write for bigger chunks. The only thing is that for some file sizes the transfer should be 2.5+GB but it is low like 400MB/s. Need to sort this out. Will post a new video in a few days i hope if i find out the solution.

Love the speed. Now if only my OCZ RevoDrive 3 could boot Windows 7 as fast as normal SSD. It just sits at Windows logo 10 seconds before doing anything
